N-A-XTRA^® und XABO^®: Lightweight and highly resilient

Ilsenburger Grobblech GmbH has acquired the trademark rights of the N-A-XTRA^® and XABO^® steels from a German steel group after discontinuing heavy plate production. The high-strength steels run parallel with Ilsenburger Grobblech's existing MAXIL^®, BRINAR^® and RESTIL^® brands.

The high-strength quenched and tempered N-A-XTRA^® and XABO^® steels from ThyssenKrupp Steel permit a reduction in plate thickness for highly stressed structures and thus allow lighter structures. Using the steel N-A-XTRA^® 700 instead of the general structural steel S355, the plate thickness can be reduced by around half, and by around 70 percent with XABO^® 960. For fabricators, high-strength steels also offer the advantage of lower filler metal requirements and reduced welding costs.
